During FDR's long stay at the white house he saw many problems and faced many difficulties. He handled most of these with flying colors, also he established some new programs that would turn out to help out the country greatly. It is for this that I award FDR the grade of an A.
Having entered the country in an awful time the main goals of FDR was to better the country. Also to decrease the current unemployment rates and to better the economy. He entered the office of presidency during a rough time, the great depression one of his main goals was to guide the country out of the depression.
I think that FDR had a very good relationship with congress as seen with his many bills purposed to congress within the first 100 days of his tenor. Congress also passed most of these acts and bills almost instantly. Also he created many groups that are still around today, with congress consent. It was because of this fantastic relationship that he was able to succeed in his goals and better the country.
I would have to say that the best act of FDR was going to war after the attack on Pearl Harbor. This was good because it ended the appesement and the "neutrality" of America, also this helped to bring an end to the war. If he had not done this who knows what would have happend with the world, Hitler would have been able to do much more destruction. Also America entering the war was one of the prime factors in the ending of the war. The worst thing that he did was not to go to the London Conference. The purpose of this was to stop the economic turmoil going on in the world at the time. America was a prime player in the world, and because they did not attend nothing was succeeded at the conference.
Many of FDR's descisions affected the future generations and future presidents. THe many acts that he established helped the country and bettered the future americans. Groups like the PWA, WPA and Social Security are just some of the few things that heled the country. Also he got America out of War. That is one of the main and most imporatant things that he did. That probally affected them the most, the baby boom generation, came as a direct result of the end of the war, which came froma a direct result from FDR.
The country was undoubtedly better after his terms. He got done more then any other president before him. His many acts and bills helped the country, and he also led the country out of the darkest economic time (to date). He was absolutely the right man for the job and it is for this reason I give him an A.
